Mobile Apps & Device Permissions
The UrBreed mobile application (urSynergy Hub for Android) requests certain device permissions that require explicit disclosure under Google Play policies:
- Microphone (RECORD_AUDIO): Used solely to transmit your voice during active phone calls placed through the app's softphone (SIP/VoIP). Audio is streamed in real time to the called party and is not stored, recorded, or transmitted to any third party. The microphone is only accessed while a call is in progress.
- Phone state (READ_PHONE_STATE, MANAGE_OWN_CALLS): Used so the app can integrate with the Android system phone UI (incoming-call screen, in-call notifications, pause-on-cellular-call). The app does not read your call log, contacts, or place calls on your cellular line.
- Foreground service (FOREGROUND_SERVICE_PHONE_CALL): Maintains the SIP connection while a call is active so the call doesn't drop when the screen is off. A persistent notification is shown while the service is running.
- Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS): Used to ring on incoming calls and show new-message indicators when you have unread messages.
- Network (INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE): Required for the app to communicate with our servers.
Voice and message data is processed by our backend infrastructure to deliver communication services to authenticated users only. We do not sell or share this data with advertisers or analytics providers.
